Emergency Pediatric Care focuses on critical pediatric physiology, illnesses, injuries, and interventions to aid EMS practitioners in providing evidence-based care to our youngest patients. Skills and patient simulations in the course support didactic content to ensure competency. The NAEMT EPC Course:

  • Promotes critical thinking, the foundation to providing quality care and formulating a differential diagnosis of the pediatric patient
  • Includes the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT) as a tool to obtain a first impression in the pediatric assessment
  • Emphasizes the importance of family-centered care
  • Understanding & communicating with children
  • Airway management, breathing and oxygenation
  • Recognizing child abuse and neglect
  • Newborn resuscitation
  • Hypoperfusion and shock
  • Cardiac emergencies

The text is shipped and provided on loan for this course. (If you want to keep the textbook, select it as an add-on purchase with this course registration -- it is at our discounted price. The Course Manual is for you to keep.) The fee also includes the NAEMT EPC certification surcharge.

This registration provides you with a seat in one of our 1-day ACLS Renewal classes, access to the online precourse work, and the AHA ecard. This class is for people that have unexpired AHA PALS certification. The course fee does not include the required PALS Provider ManualThere is precourse work to complete in order to attend the class.

The PALS Course is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics, as well as others who need an PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.
